Project Name: Shelby County Job and Family Services
Project Type: New Construction
Location: Sidney, Ohio
Completion Date: 2002 Project Cost: $2.3 M
This facility is 25,810 s.f. and is composed of four different divisions along with administrative, fiscal and support staff. The divisions include the Employment & Family Services, Financial & Medical Services, Children Services and Child Support. The efficient use of space allows the different divisions to be conveniently located under one roof. This consolidation allows the Department to operate more efficiently while better serving the public. This project was the result of a thorough feasibility study completed for the Shelby County Social Services by Freytag & Associates, Inc. The project is located on a quarter of a downtown city block and required extensive coordination between the City of Sidney and the County. Two new parking lots were added on the adjoining property and shared with the City for other governmental services.
