Relocation of the Sidney Municipal Courts began with numerous studies of existing structures.  The Historic Monumental Building provided the appropriate size, location and historical context to best suit the present and future needs of the court.  Close coordination with the City was essential through the design process to ensure the Court staff, Sidney Police Department, Highway Patrol, Sheriff and Court Selected Security Advisory Council concerns were satisfied.  The completed facility boasts one of the finest municipal courtrooms in the state, as the 1872 opera house with domed ceiling and grand proscenium was converted to a state of the art courtroom.  The facility also includes judges suite, Clerk of Courts, law library, prosecuting attorney suite and probation/bailiff suite with detention areas.
