In 2009, Bellefontaine City Schools selected Freytag & Associates, Inc. for completion of two new buildings serving grades K-2 and grades 6-8. The middle school houses grades 6-8 and is a three-story 87,983 square foot building.  This building contains 20 classrooms, 6 project labs, three computer labs, a library media center, a visual arts area, a consumer science classroom/laboratory, a vocal music room, an instrumental music room and a gymnasium. The structure features Extended Learning Areas (ELA) shared by the classrooms in each academic wing, which adjoin an integrated outdoor natural learning space that provides natural light to the ELAs.  The facility is being built as LEED Silver Certified Projects.  The building opened in August of 2013.
